Phyre vom Patiala (call name Emmy) 01.26.2010 - 03.20.2025 was purchased from Ajay Singh of Zwinger vom Patiala. Ajay and I discussed what I was looking for in my next dog and what my priorities and concerns were. When I decided to buy another puppy, I had only one vision - Javir vom Talka Marda. I had seen Javir compete at the 2008 WUSV in Cincinnati and was wowed by his performance. I knew that Ajay's female, Javir's littermate, Jilnannah vom Talka Marda was just about to whelp a litter. I was very excited to purchase one of these pups! Ajay picked the perfect female out of the litter and I got exactly what I wanted.
Emmy's dam, Jilnannah was from the world famous J-Litter vom Talka Marda that produced Javir (4 times BSP finishing 3rd, 1st, 2nd & 18th. 3 times WUSV finishing 11th, 3rd & 4th and two times Universal Sieger). John (5 times BSP), Jenna (1 time BSP), Jimbeam, Jarek (South African Nationals) and Justin (Working Police Dog PSH2). Jilnannah successfully competed at the USA Nationals and tied for the highest scoring female in the protection phase (90). In Emmy's 5 generation pedigree (62 dogs) only 8 have less than SchH 3 or IPO 3 and 29 have FH titles (advanced tracking)
Phyre's sire was Aro von der kleinen Birke - the breeding was recommended by Horst and Michaela Knoche of vom Talka Marda as they had bred Quaste (mother of the J litter) to him. Aro was very quick, had very good fighting drive and a very good work ethic. Aro was sable with short firm and straight back with very firm limbs and was good in breeding.
Emmy was a H.O.T. dog - Handler Owned and Trained by myself since the age of 8 weeks. It takes a village to IPO/CKC train a dog and I would like to thank everyone whose help and guidance have enabled Emmy & I to achieve so much. Emmy was one of the most titled German Shepherd Dogs in Canada and is a member of the GSSCC Schutzhund 3 club. No other GSD, that we are aware of, has an IPO 3 and CKC OTCh, AKC Utility along with titles in CKC Tracking, AKC Rally Obedience and Scent Detection.
Emmy was our foundation female and is everything and more we think a GSD should be. She is the mother of our A, B, C and D litters. She was an amazing mother both physically and socially.
Emmy is the mother of Askew who continued our breeding program.
Emmy turned 15 in January 2025 and by March started to have trouble getting up and walking so we made the very difficult decision to let her go. There will never be another dog as wonderful as my squishy girl.
Description: Emmy was average sized (60lbs - 26.5kg, 56cm - 22") compact, solid built female. She was an extremely stable, clear headed dog with an incredible on/off switch - she calmed down or amped up into drive with little effort. She had huge ball drive, nice food drive and learned very quickly. She was a dog that loves to please and needed little correction. Protection came naturally and control on the field was never an issue. Emmy was a wonderful companion and house dog. She loved to play, loved to swim (jumping into the river at 9 weeks old), had no issues with surfaces, noises, people or situations. She was also free from allergies, skin issues and did not have a sensitive digestive system.
Coat: Emmy had a short standard coat, bi-colour. She carried black & tan as her recessive colour gene.
Her breed survey reads as follows:
Small Medium Strong, stretched, good expression, normal withers, good top line, slightly short and slightly steep croup, good angulation in the front and back end. Good chest proportions, correct front, straight gait in back, front gait is toe reached, good pace distance, powerful efficient rear drive, front reach could be more free. Good confidence and temperament. TSB Pronounced, releases.
